My New Year's Day Experience

by Isira | Published: January 4, 2020

This is where I spent my ‘New Years Day’. Celebrating cycles, seasons and significant days has been part of our human nature for millennia. Giving our focus and attention on a particular day is something we do. And it’s certainly something that can deepen and enrich our experience. But it can also highlight the gaps between such days. Are we truly living each moment? Do we recognise the newness and wonder of life unfolding every…

The 4 Pillars of Lore: A universal map for our times.

Published: December 16, 2019

From the time I was a young girl I experienced and observed the traumas of disconnection. I could see that many of the people around me were so disconnected from the land, from the environment surrounding them, that it was like they were living in their own diminished bubble. That bubble was also filled with layers of trauma and emotional conflicts that prevented them from being truly connected with the people around them. This was…

We are in the midst of a crisis of unprecedented levels. The fires here in Australia are so extensive and like “nothing we have ever seen before.” More than 100 fires are burning across the eastern coast. NSW has declared a state of emergency for seven days. 600 schools have been closed. So far 3 human lives have been lost, countless creatures and wildlife has been devastated and more than 200 homes destroyed. And to…

To be connected with earth is to be connected with life

by Isira | Published: October 12, 2019

The lifestyle of our modern world is so distanced and cut off from Earth it’s no wonder most people feel so depleted of life. We are living in an insulated, artificial world. We separate the soles of our feet from the ground, and therefore from the soul of Earth. We close ourselves in concrete towers unable to receive the vitality of earth's living towers - the ancient forests and mountains. Without our living connection with…

The mind does like to wander, doesn't it?

by Isira | Published: October 1, 2019

The mind does like to wander doesn’t it? If you’re not careful it will take you all over the place, down dark avenues, into haunted basements, along a cliff edge, round and round a merry-go-round...  Here’s the thing, the mind really does have an endless scope of pathways it can take, so if you’re not in charge of it you can easily end up in places you don’t really want to be. That’s because the…

It's deep connection that fulfills us, not possessions.

by Isira | Published: September 28, 2019

Have you noticed how addicted to material things humans are? Have you ever wondered why? How can we be so driven to seek possessions when the thing we most deeply yearn for is connection?  At the most immediate level the problem is in marketing. We are sold an emotional story - that’s what makes a successful product. Not necessarily the object itself - but the story associated with it. But this only works so well…

Day Zero. The dates rivers and dams that supply water are expected to run out

by Isira | Published: September 20, 2019

Meanwhile, in Australia - the driest continent in the world (aside from Antarctica) - we are experiencing an extreme and prolonged drought - one of the worst in decades. That last line in the above image says: major rural towns run completely dry.  That’s not just oh, there’s not much water. Read it again.... COMPLETELY DRY. And our government is considering extending expansive coal mining rights into 2048 - to mines directly responsible for depleting…

No amount of money, oil or gold is worth more than the trees, bees, and healthy reefs

by Isira | Published: August 24, 2019

There are some things in the world we cannot do without - clean air and water, healthy soil, biodiversity and a balanced environment. These are fundamental to life - without these we suffer and deplete life. We in fact put the future life of ourselves and all creatures in great peril.  Other things like capitalism, currency, materialism and the economy are not fundamental forces of nature. We invented them. They are not immutable. We can…

The fires are lit to clear land for cattle ranching - responsible for as much as 80% of the ongoing deforestation. Awakening and Regeneration

by Isira | Published: August 16, 2019

From the time I was a young child, I recognised that the people all around me were deeply disconnected and that this severance of spirit was directly related to the collective conflicts reverberating around the world. Clearly, this disconnection was the root of great suffering and conflict.  As I grew to be able to articulate what I saw and understood I recognised the need for a great awakening – not just within individuals – but…
