I see that our world is now seeking a clear focus that will help to achieve greater peace in a manner that is both realistic and empowering for peaceful resolutions. I see that each of us is essentially the same and intimately connected to the whole. It is the essence of this that we are seeking to understand and to embody. It is the spirit within each of us as a human; the love, the wisdom and compassion that we are aspiring to give a voice to. I understand this to be the way of the heart.
Ultimately each one of us aspires to greater security, peace and well-being.
We have many representatives of these ideals, yet for the most part, they are contained within a religion, set of beliefs or organisation. As such we can wear a hat as a Muslim, the cloak of a Christian or the suit of a politician yet all of these identities are subject to conformity, conditions and frameworks which are exclusive in some way and are still subject to change. In one moment we may look out from under the hat of a Muslim and we see “us and them”. In another moment we can look out from under the suit of a Labor Party Regime and there is “us and them”. We could try on every hat and cloak and still discover that our image of truth, love and peace changes every day. It is only when we return to the heart that we discover that all of these images are held in this one place. It is in the love within our heart that all things are glued together.
When we are here we are finally home. When we engage our quest to focus on the way of the heart we discover the immense capacity we have to overcome our differences and adversity. We discover that our images do not make us exclusive and that under the cloak we are all human beings seeking a place of unity and equal rights for dignity and peace. When we look to this quality we discover the true greatness that we are all capable of – the greatness of our human spirit.
We then discover that we are loving, compassionate and inspired, that it is great to be human, and that all our divisions and boundaries that once kept us separate were only borders of fear. We see that the boundaries were only the images in our mind and that when we stand in our heart, every place is a frontier where we can unite. We discover that every person and every image has within in it a place where everything meets. This place is not on the borders of nations or in the debate of religions, beliefs or politics. It is simply in the heart.
